“Ahhh, why won’t this printer work already?! I just bought new ink and nothing is coming out!”
I think we have all had issues with computers and all the accessories that you can buy for them. But there is nothing more irritating then trying to print something, a report, homework, that spreadsheet that’s do by the end of the week and it’s Thursday night only to find out that nothing is being printed, no ink marks anywhere and your just staring like a deer in headlights at the blank piece of paper that is still hot off the press where your lovely work is suppose to be displayed. Well, before you end up making your printer look like the one in the picture to the right let’s go over one of the most common problems and how to solve it.
If there is no ink coming out and your printer has been used recently then most likely you are simply out of ink. Run to your local store if you are the one that is trying to print the spreadsheet or if you have a few days save yourself a little money by shopping online and use a 4inkjets coupon.
But wait, simply buying a new ink cartridge would make things too easy, I mean, something else just has to go wrong, right?
You are all excited, you have just purchased a new, shinny object, a simple ink cartridge and feel like a true handyman by replacing all by yourself without having to call up your teenage nephew who is the family computer doctor. You hint print and wait…..and wait…and wait. But for some reason nothing is being printed, simply blank pages again. Well have no fear, you are about to learn something that maybe your nephew does not even know.
Pull out the new ink cartridge, make sure that you have removed the protective plastic strip that stops the ink from leaking out. If you have already done that and still are not getting any ink out then get a paper towel, make it slight damp with some water and then place the area on the ink cartridge where the ink comes out directly on the paper towel. Wait for about 3 minutes or until the you see ink bleeding onto the paper towel. Replace the ink cartridge into the printer and now you are printing once again!
